Terms of Service

The agreement between you and Cutle when you use this website or the ID Card Maker app.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service govern your use of cutle.co and of the ID Card Maker: Digital ID Card application. By using either, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the site or the app.

2. What Cutle provides

This website provides:

  • information about the ID Card Maker Android app;
  • a blog with guides and articles about ID cards;
  • a contact channel;
  • preview material about an online card editor that is still in development.

The online editor is not released. Nothing on this site is a promise that it will be released on a particular date, or with a particular set of features.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the site or the app to:

  • create, or attempt to create, a government ID, national identity card, passport, driving licence, or any other official or legal document;
  • impersonate any person, organisation or authority, or to misrepresent a card as official;
  • break any law, or help anyone else do so;
  • infringe anyone's copyright, trade mark or other rights;
  • interfere with the site, overload it, probe it for vulnerabilities without written permission, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of it;
  • scrape the site at a rate that damages it for other visitors.

The app is intended only for creating customisable professional and organisational ID cards. You are responsible for how the cards you create are used, and for making sure you have the right to use any name, logo or photograph you put on a card.

4. The Android app

The app is distributed through Google Play, and your download and use of it are also subject to Google Play's terms of service. Updates, availability and device compatibility are governed by the listing and may change.

5. Intellectual property

The Cutle name, the design of this website, and the text and illustrations we publish are ours or are used with permission. You may read, quote briefly with a link back, and share links freely. You may not copy substantial parts of the site, or present our material as your own, without written permission.

Sample cards shown on this site use fictional names and organisations created for illustration. They are not real people or real organisations.

6. Comments and user content

If you post a comment on the blog, you keep ownership of it, but you grant us a non-exclusive licence to publish and display it. We may moderate, edit for clarity, or remove any comment, particularly spam, abuse or anything unlawful.

7. Links to other sites

We link to external sites such as Google Play. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices.

8. Advertising

This site displays advertising. Ads are served by third parties and are kept visually separate from our own interface and controls. We do not endorse the products advertised.

9. Availability and "as is"

The site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We work to keep it online and accurate, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or that any statement on it is complete. Articles are general guidance and are not legal advice.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, loss of data, loss of profit, or for any loss arising from a card you create, print, distribute or rely on. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

11. Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top of the page will change when we do. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of cutle.co is established, without regard to conflict of law rules.
